Q. Do you take junior members?
A. Yes we do. We have over 400 junior members ranging from under 5 to under 16 boys and girls. Our events are run so that every child gets to compete with a similar age group. We also handicap so that every child has a chance to win.
Q. Where are you?
A. Ballarat YCW Harriers is based at Llanberris Reserve on the corner of York and Young Streets in Ballarat. We also run events in many parts of the Ballarat region.
Q. Are there any famous YCW Ballarat members?
A. There definitely are. Steve Moneghetti is perhaps our most famous member. We have also produced many Olympic and Commonwealth Games class athletes such as Tony Benson, Shaun Creighton, Sharon Russell (new Stewart), Shane Nankervis and Jared Talent.
Q. How do I find out what events you run?
A. YCW Harriers runs many different cross country and track and field events over our running season. We cater for all ages and skill levels, so there’s something for everyone. You can also join as a social member if you wish. You can find out more about our calendar at the Season Dates page
